The Spoonies (and others) at the rookery at Smith Oaks in High Island, Texas were quite active tending to their nests;
hatching seems to be a few weeks late this year, so we didn't see the little puff balls. It was an awesome sight when all the birds came home to roost at sunset.

Thanks for checking out my photos and the encouraging feedback. In spite of not knowing exactly what I did right, as they say, "even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then".
Pictures alone can not capture the magnificent beauty, the hustle and bustle of all the nesting activities, and the sheer numbers and varieties of birds in the rookery.
