You know you're not allowed to steal photos from Ansel and claim them as your own!

Please, don't let his estate know I did that. 8-)

Thanks, St3v3, I appreciate the compliment.

Thanks, photosbytw. Hmmmm, that's an interesting idea. However, Arthur Rothstein sort of did that approach. Only, he used a steer skull.

Bob you know I am an admirer of your work. This is a good image no question. Your composition and tonal control of this image are good. In my opinion to get this image to outstanding you need to apply a bit more work in Ansel's room. I feel the left side is a bit cramped and am hoping that a crop from the right might help that, Your upper left sky needs to blend a little slower to black just below the cloud. The black above the cloud could be lightened a bit, I say this as it just feels a bit unreal that the sky would look like this. If that is the look you were going for then very well you achieved it. These of course are just my opinions Bob. I realize you did not ask for anything but also believe you are not just looking for attaboys.

Gotta be seen on download!
Absolutely gorgeous sky, Bob.
The foreground shadow detail, however, suggests you could brighten the FG a bit for improved tonal balance. the FG seems a bit unrealistically darkened to me. Is that realism or artistic license...or a compromise of the two?

Splendid! What a wonderful shot. Are there others from this series?

Dave, it was sort of a compromise, as I wanted the road to be a bit more predominant, and a leading factor.

Rick, thank you for the nice compliment. There were other photographs taken during this general period of time and subject matter.

They were not really a series, but more a bit of exposure experimentation project.
