I don't know what it will take to convince some folks that the climate is changing, changing for the worse unfortunately. Here in New York City and it's almost mid-January, the temp yesterday reached the high sixties (F) in some places. We haven't had any snow yet this winter and it has been unsually mild. I'm guessing that somewhere else they are experiencing an unusually severe winter. This article, while a bit long-winded is pretty informative. The economic cost and the human suffering attributable to weather extremes is enormously consequential.

I agree with you as here in Scotland over the last week we have had people wading through waist high water in their homes, bridges being washed away as well as roads, cars being carried away downriver and emergency crews working to the limit to assist with evacuating people from their flooded properties. Can anyone say that no one seen this coming ?

When you look at the c*****e c****es over a 200 year period, there has only been a very minor change. The Gov. has been pushing for certain c*****e c****e reports from Universities. They made predictions made in the 60's & 70's. When their predictions didn't come true in the 80's & 90's. People began to realize that this was another Gov. s**m to Redistribute our money. Obama said during his first Campaign, that if elected, He would keep the Oceans from rising. Maybe you should re-think this whole Weather PONZI Scheme.

I'm so sick to death of hearing that those of us who question man-made g****l w*****g don't believe in c*****e c****e. Of course we believe in c*****e c****e. It has been changing since the Earth was formed.

You talk about this mild winter yet use El Nino as the subject. That is why it is mild this year. It is a strong El Nino. Funny how those who talk about mild winters or record heat, never mention the record cold set the year before. Records are to be broken.

G****l w*****g or c*****e c****e aside, this El nino is definitely having an effect on the world's weather. It seems that people who deny c*****e c****e don't want to hear anything about either weather or climate.

I'm just glad I'm not burning much oil or wood, and my snow tires are still in the garage.

It sure is. Having spent the first 62 years of my life in California, I can appreciate that. Most important, it looks like the Sierra snow pack is shaping up.

One thing about weather that is constant: it always changes. I live in Dallas. 2015 was the wettest year on record after a 5 year drought. Christmas Day: 72, today: 26. If you don't like the weather, wait a minute!

It's really too bad that some folks can't help making this a political thing. Of course the climate is always changing. When someone says the change is very minor it's because they don't understand the arithmetic. We are able to live comfortably within a very narrow band of temperatures. It's the temps within that band that are changing dramatically. Burying your head in the sand and being in denial is not helpful. What mankind needs to do is to figure out how to take control of the climate. What about all the people who lose lives and property (read homes, livestock, farms, businesses, etc) to floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, wild fires, landslides right here in the USA, not to mention all over the rest of the world.

El Ninos have been showing up for centuries. This is nothing new, just as the La Ninas that have caused cold winters have, too. This is a dynamic planet.
