I have been "volunteered" to resize photos of 150 individuals so ID badges can be made. How do I make all the faces the same size? I have cropped them all but some faces are twice the size of the others. I have Corel Photo Album 6 and Corel Paint Shop Pro X.

Thank you for any help
Jimmie M.
P.S. I am new here.

There should be a function in PSP-x to "resize image." You just need to know what size you need.

Are you just providing the images or the badges, as well. If you are doing the badges (via a word processor or desktop publishing program) you should be able to set up a template with the size you need and import the photo into this.

Thank you snowbear. I am only doing the photos. I used the resize and it distorted the faces. After hearing from you I returned to resize and played around. I do get a good photo if I do not use height and width the same measurement. They wanted square but I think they will have to settle for rectangle. Some of the faces were close to the camera and some were at a fair distance and they want the faces to appear the same size. Now, thanks to you, I think I can get close to what they want.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Any resizing has to be done proportionately in order to avoid the distortions. If the ratio is 2:3 (most digitals), then the resize has to be the same. Crop the originals square, then you should be OK.

If I recall, PSP has a check box to maintain aspect ratio when resizing. If you check this, then do the resize, you should avoid the distortion. :)

Thank you for the extra information bawlmer. You and snowbear are very appreciated. Helping me with this "job" has made the work easier. The hardest part now is to get the heads close to the same size before I crop them. My husband suggested I not take on this job but I am glad I did. The challenge is making me explore my photo programs beyond what I have used in the past. I learned what I needed (basics) now I am finding there is much more I can do.

Thank you
Jimmie

I think there is a difference between having the same size photos and the same size heads. As you said, some heads are larger than others. I think there is a workable solution to getting 150 done quickly, but I don't know what that would be. Let us know how this turns out.

Hi snowbear;

I am the one that was seeking help with resizing 150 photos of people with different size heads because the range of the shots were different. With your help the job is completed and the organizers were pleased with the results. It was difficult but thanks to your willingness to share you knowledge and expertise the job is finished.
