Pink Boots

At last! The first sunny weekend in Oregon has arrived.

Photographers were out in droves at our annual tulip festival which happened to coincide with our first gorgeous weekend of the year. Record crowds were in attendance, about half of which were photographers of all shapes and sizes. I saw one person there with the biggest lens I think I've ever seen. It have to be at least 3 feet long and about a food in diameter, supported by a tripod I probably couldn't lift by myself.

While I was people watching, I noticed this little boy in pink boots walking between the two rows of colorful flowers with his family. When they weren't looking - they had all turned their backs for just a moment - the little boy immediately spotted a small mud puddle where he just had to try out his pink boots. I chuckled to myself because in the midst of all the beautiful flowers, the little boy was centered on what he enjoyed the most - MUD!

I thought you might enjoy it, too - not the mud, the little boy.

No, it is a curly-headed little boy. Besides, little girls don't play in the mud, do they?

Ummm... yes!
Some of us DO like to play in the mud!
As a matter of fact, I'm 40-something and STILL go splashing about in the mud puddles in bare feet after a thunderstorm!

*blush*

And my brothers couldn't hold a CANDLE to my "gourmet mud pies" when we were little ;)

Nice shots Kenny. Just goes to show you how kids have more fun filled priorities than adults. Why stand around idly looking at flowers when you can jump in mud and get wet and dirty! 8-)

Some how kids learn early to do certain things only when the adults are not looking.

Can we see some more shots? They look beautiful. I have a friend in N.W Washington and she tells me about the Tulip Festival in her
area. I hope to attend next season. It sounds like an amazing experience.
