For street photography I decide for my first post on here to post a photo with no street. I think it captures what I like about the genre.
I didn't feel able to post on other peoples threads if I didn't have at least one of my own on here first.
I welcome comment and criticism from the talented street photographers who have posted examples of their work on this forum. I appreciate the encouragement too I have received from photographers who's work I can only aspire too.

If beach is considered to be street then it's a fine street shot. It has emotion show by the obvious closeness of the couple and it has context.
I might have darkened the white vehicle on the left just a little.

Thank you I appreciate your time. Since I processed this image i have got some presets for lightroom which should do better than my uneducated use of sliders.

Use the pre-sets to get you into the area you want to be then the sliders are your friends. The secret is to be subtle with the sliders and to try lots of combinations of adjustment. Adjust until you begin to think you might have gone too far then back off 95% :-)

It will be interesting to see if this version works better than the first.

It does work better, there is now detail in the hillside.

I quite liked this photograph when I took it. I was hoping to get a "street style" image but it doesn't really work that well. The hard thing is for me to be objective, it is my little piece. But it fails to be memorable. It is lacking and I don't know why.
Would you have tried for a shot with this couple? How would you have approached it. What would it have needed in order to be successful?
If anyone else wants to add their own analysis and suggest how I could have done things better or differently jump right in. I'm confident that i'm not that good but I do aim to improve. :)

John, would definitely have taken this shot, in fact I have very similar ones. Lone people/couples on beaches attract me, in a photographic sense, of course :-)
