Our local downtown farmers market, a great place to eat and see the locals every weekend.

I appreciate that, I'm still not sure what will be considered/accepted as Street Photography on this new section. It will be interesting!

Acceptable here is a user defined concept! If you don't think it fits, don't post it; and if you do think it fits then do post it!

Not that anyone needs to agree with you! But discussion of why an image is Street to one person and not Street to the next has got to be educational!

Go for it!

I agree, and appreciate that. I love wildlife, but after years on this forum, I admit there are times when I suffer from eagle/egret overload. I think this section could be a breath of fresh air.

I really appreciate that confirmation, I believe that we will get this sorted out and on the right track. And in the process learn much and have a lot of fun. Thanks Richard!

All three are SP. The third one is an excellent example of "classic" Street Photography.

It is very difficult for me to shoot people, I am always painfully aware that I am invading their privacy. Consequently I unconsciously avoid that phase of SP. I am hoping that I learn to overcome that. I think this section will help. I don't understand this completely, but if I use the D7100, I get a fair amount of people that give me a negative reaction. However, with the Df, and a small lens (50 1.8 or 20 1.8) that almost never happens. Maybe the smaller camera's are best for this!

You may find street festivals/fairs or touristy areas good places to start. Everybody is relaxed and there may be lots of cameras about.

I can post a couple of examples, with your permission, if you like.

I do understand what you mean, camera's are much more accepted in situations like that and I do take advantage. But that lone person seems to react differently to a "big" camera, they often feel you are taking pictures for someone. However, if you take the time to strike up a conversation with them, and then ask permission things seem to work out better. And by the way, feel free to post any pictures as we are all trying to sort this out. Thanks for taking the time and effort to respond and help.

I understand where your coming from, however, my point was the fact that we all become bored when we see the same old things over and over. Believe it or not, there are times when I get tired of aircraft and need a short break. Street photography is almost therapy for me because of the inexhaustible varieties of subject matter. I find that very refreshing and exciting. It is also something that I know little about and there fore is a challenge for this old man.
