The other 77 were blocked by Harry Reid in the Senate. Because of the Reid engineered change of Senate rules to require 60 v**es to pass the Republicans still can't pass bills in the Senate unless they get enough Democratic v**es to make it past 60.

This just means some Democrats in the Senate v**ed for repeal, wither because they really want to repeal or just as a ploy to appeal to v**ers back home who favor repeal. They know President Obama will (has already) veto it anyway.

Now if enough Democratic Senators v**e for repeal to take the v**e past 66 and enough Democratic Representatives to make 2/3 v**e for repeal then the ACA/Obama Care will get repealed.

But it isn't likely that enough Democrats will jump ship. Unless the ACA really falls totally apart soon (it already has parts that are imploding) or the President and his buddies do something to really get them mad.

My take on the ACA is this.
People that don't have health insurance, will when they
get sick go to an ER. Of course they don't have the money so the hospital writes it off. Or they will if sick enough call an ambulance which if they don't have the money it will be written off. Also you cannot be denied coverage
for pre-existing conditions, along with the fact that your children can remain on your coverage til they are 25. When I look at it from that point of view it's a good thing. I even had a dyed in the wool republican state " it would have been better for everyone to have access to Medicare Medicade.
Also because of the ACA isn't the doughnut hole for medication closed?
I haven't followed it enough to know the complete negatives regarding the issue.

The problem is it is set up to only be successful and work the way it was advertised as a ponzi (pyramid) scheme. It takes the premiums of all those young healthy people who don't want to spend money on insurance they won't use to pay for all the ones who do need it. So some people get free insurance paid for by the tax payers and the others who have to buy insurance if they want it or not and everyone who pays for their own (or get it from work) sees their costs go up. Due to covering those who get it free and the extras that the law requires policies to have even for people who don't need or want the extras.
Exp: I am 70 and my wife 60, but our policy (through the school district I retired from) including neonatal, birth and child care. If we should need those I am running out to look East for a new star!

It would have been far cheaper to just set up a system to provide minimal needed care for the poor like clinics they could go to instead of ERs and Trauma Centers.

I saw an article that said the net gain of people covered only reduced the numbers without coverage by about 1 million. Yet it messed up many millions of people's coverage. "If you like your plan/doctor, you can keep your plan/doctor." How well did that work out for all those who weren't on something like my Kaiser coverage? And there were many changes even there. My doctors say the amount of paper work(well computer work) has gone way up and their time per patient has gone way down, they are too busy keeping records to make federal paper pushers happy.

So what happens now when one of the millennials that ended up paying a fine needs to go to the ER? Does he get his care for free anyways?

I just finished reading where the ACA is underwater. The young kids that were supposed to join but not actually use it aren't joining or offsetting the costs. United HealthCare is bailing from the program and they are in the words of Donald Trump, Uuuuuuuugggge (aka huge).

I think the program is doomed but that was Obamas fault for setting it up this way. Everyone has their opinion and I sure have mine. I can tell you that I don't like the idea of the federal gov't getting involved in my healthcare choices. I don't want my healthcare history as part of some national database. It should be between me and my doctor. Now my doctor asks if I own a firearm at every visit. Where the feck does anyone crap that comes from?
