I'll be in Shawnee on Delaware in the eastern Pocono Mountains in mid June this year. Other than the well documented and numerous waterfalls, does anyone know of some hidden gems for landscape photo ops?
Brady's Lake off 940 west out of Mount Pocono;many areas of the Brodhead Creek in Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg-there is a beautiful park on north 5th Street out of Stroudsburg on the Brodhead. I've taken numerous pictures there. Drive to the top of Camel Back ski resort in Tannersville-great views from there. Areas around Beltsville Lake in western Monroe County, about 30-35 miles west near Lehighton. Zane Gray's home in Lackawaxen,PA, on the Delaware/NY border. It's around 50-55 miles up there, if you wish to travel that far. To me, it's one of the most peaceful places I've ever been to. However, I don't think we were ever there during tourist season! lol
Thank you very much. Yours is the sort of information I was hoping to get. By the way, I lived in Cookeville very briefly around 1974 while working near Dale Hollow Lake. That is a beautiful area.

Take the drive up the Delaware from Port Jervis up ti Hawks Nest. I won't spoil the surprise. It will blow your mind. Then continue north To Skinners falls but don't forget to swing onto all the little side roads and stop into Narrowsburg. Enjoy and you won't regret the ride.
True, true! We only took that ride once so I forgot about it.

I do the Hawks Nest a few times a year. We stay at Lake Wallenpaupack in PA usually go my motorcycle. Funny I take more camera gear than clothes on that ride. Even the tripod gets bungied to the saddlebags. Great road trip. Go in the summer and float down the river at Skinners falls and watch the resident bald eagles. Go in December and catch about 100 pairs of bald eagles wintering over at Lackawaxen. You will never run out of landscapes to photograph in the area.
