Just trying out my "nifty Fifty" on my D-90 at sunset. f6.7 1/180
Very little pp. The second pix is a view of the tree from the other side, right after I got done mowing the back yard.
A little pp to lighten up the shadows.
Tele, set at 16 mm. Feel free to comment or give input, I'm still learning.

I'm new and have so much to learn! What causes the halo around the trees? And what is the "pp" you keep speaking of?

PP=Post Processing. The halo may have come from dodging the tree with not enough care as to the size or placement of the brush. Dodging is very intricate on a subject like that to keep it from bleeding onto the surrounding sky.
