Here are the hummers again. They are just about ready to leave the nest. It takes less than a month from egg to first flight. The Anna's hummingbird will lay multiple clutches per year.

The hummer is probably the easiest bird to photograph at a nest. They seem oblivious to people as long as you stand still. This nest is in front of our vet clinic. I had to stand on top of my Toyota Highlander in the parking lot to get this series of photos. Of course there were a few curious people as well.

Stunning photos! When I was growing up, my dad had a nest right outside of his bed room window. I remember sitting for hours on the floor watching them. My sister has to come and go though the side door of her home because she has a nest inside a wreath hanging on the front door.
