My son would like some photos that I took at his wedding, he wants to get them enlarged to be framed etc.

The trouble is I only took snapshots that day with a Canon compact which makes me slightly worried about how to send them to be enlarged. They are jpegs only.

Can anyone give me precise instructions on the best way to send them to him ie email or some other application so that he can get the best from them when enlarged.

I use LR cc and have used the export function but on this occasion I am not sure what settings to use.

Thank you hogs.

It sounds like you have the easy part of the job. Since they are small files, email would work. You can also use DropBox, or similar. It's when files are very large that email doesn't work.

Making a small image file into a large print is the tough part. here are two ways to make snap shots big shots.

Jerry you expect people to pay that much for Benvista Photozoom classic 6 when purchased from Serif Photozoom Classic 5 is $30. But you must first become a member of the Serif community.. no cost, just join.

The Serif Community? That sounds like a cult. Is Kool Aid their preferred drink? :D

Linda, I'm pretty sure you can just straight up email those. Even if you've PP'd them, a flattend image should go, even if not one at a time.
But Linda, I'm seeing some sort moral in your story here!!

I use On1 Perfect Resize software. It works better than Photoshop. I can enlarge photos 10 times their size without losing detail or resolution. That's billboard size. I've never tried free software because I believe you get what you pay for. I send photos e-mail if they're 25 mb or less. One at a time. I use Dropbox for larger ones but I purchased more space to accommodate larger files. Free Dropbox may not be able to do that.

Just a caution, put the USB in a small padded envelope or box. Otherwise, the Post Office sorting machinery will "eat" that if it is in a regular envelope. I know, I worked for the U.S. postal Service for 36 years.

You may be able to get good enlargements from your existing JPEG files depending on desired size, of course.

The sophisticated plug-ins or stand-alone products get pricey for a reason. If you want to do a better job of up-scaling (i.e., making a file having a greater size in number of pixels in the width x height directions), then I've found those specialty products actually do a better job in making a print file -- so long as you realize they can't provide detail that isn't there from the get-go. What they achieve is kind of amazing within appropriate limits, though. All this is in a constant state of change and improvement, e.g., whether this one or that one is "better than Photoshop" or what's built in with any other product. ... gotta stop, if I write more it will just get more confusing. Best of luck -- you'll probably find some good results out there somewhere.

Drop Box will enable you to send the full size files which you would want to use.Use 100 percent setting for making prints. Use 5 percent for email size.

"Of course any one with any salt" would declare what is in the box. Then this would cause no big issue at all.! How on earth do you get mail order parcels which contain micro bits. I have purchased many small bits from eBay.com from America. So long they are under £20.00 there is no tax to pay. Be positive! I'am sure that's the American way! Your negative solution is beyond belief.

Hello Marty

I also live in England so I am more than familiar with our postal system. I can just post it to my son in a padded envelope. I don't think I will get arrested for doing so, its not as if I am committing espionage!! or treason even. I'm sure the Home Office will enjoy the experience looking at the photos of my sons wedding. They might criticise my skills as an amateur photography.
