Please don't start any more 'sections'. It's already confusing enough!!!!!!! Start a long running thread or something but not another section!!
I, for one, would like to see a "street" section.

It should not be confusing at all!
Just subscribe to whichever sections that interest you, and unsubscribe from the ones that don't.

This entire forum interests me and so do 99% of the people. It isn't confusing for me, just all those who will post in the wrong sections and ahhhhh...never mind. I'd just be wasting my time to try to say that another section really isn't necessary. And while ya'll are at it start another one for just babies and one for kittens and one for puppies and one for food and one for photographing jewelry and on and on...... I'm sure we could divide things up a little more than they already are. :(

There are so many photographers who are locked into a single niche or genre. For example, birds in flight. Or "birds sitting on a branch". Not my cup of tea, and I tire of seeing them. But not so for those photo practicioners. Conversely, they're not turned on by sports photography, but I take thousands of cross country pics. The opportunities & challenges are different for each, so a section for each has its special appeal.
That would be especially true if one wants to learn how to take great photos of, say, jewelry or food in order to make a living at it. So why not? In fact, I recently went to the opening reception for a photo exhibition that included works by the dog portrait "expert" -- who makes a living at it. If that's your cup of tea, I could see why a special section would be welcomed.
For me, the appeal of a street photography forum is that the genre is far more diverse than just food, or jewelry, or people, or whatever. The opportunities & challenges are greater, IMHO.
