Portrait of a Bald Eagle.

I took this photo over a week ago, before our bad weather set into our north Idaho area with a lot of snow.
The Bald Eagle was about 150 feet away under very cloudy skies and was about ready to pounce on a salmon in the lake below. Always hand held. Please use the the download.
I used 560mm.
Canon 5Dsr - Cano 100-400 II - Canon 1.4x III - 1/320 - f/9 - ISO @ 2000.

Nice shot Regis. Very good detail and contrast. Great job.

Another excellent capture. EXIF shows you were a mere 56 feet away! Ansel Adams said "A good photograph is knowing where to stand". Easier said than done- you are a master!
I always enjoy viewing these. Beautiful shot with excellent detail. Thanks again for sharing.
Bald Eagles must have made a comeback in Northern Idaho. I never saw any when we lived there from 1966 - 1972.

The EXIF is wrong. I have never been that close (56 feet) to an Eagle. Remember this is a cropped photo. My Nikon rangefinder gave me a reading of 49 to 51 yards.
I thank you, Peeb, for your nice comment.
