http://nypost.com/2015/12/26/elites-and-media-really-h**e-donald-trumps-v**ers/I doubt that many of the ruling class in Washington read the NY Post. If they did, however, they might start to realize that the people who want Trump elected don't agree with many of his policy statements or position arguments -- THEY DON'T BELIEVE THAT THOSE IN POWER GIVE A RAT'S ASS ABOUT THE COUNTRY!!
While this might be a new insight to them, most of the rest of us realize that the primary objective of those presently in power is to protect and defend the perquisites of those presently in power.
Trump does not fit in with the "good ole boys"club and may expose the real motives of those in power.
Nobody can agree on everything that comes out of his mouth but it should cause those ruling to take notice that the majority of the country is not happy with the way things are now.

I don't argue with your proposition that people are unhappy. However, I think Trump is potentially a very dangerous character for the nation.
The last speech I saw, he went on and on about how he h**es reporters, then how he wasn't going to k**l them--over and over--practically inviting some crank who follow him to k**l a reporter. Lately he has been extolling H**e like some F*****t of several years ago.
To keep his momentum for a year, he will be driven to consistently more vicious statements, possibly causing the unhinged to act.
Pretty scary stuff.

Trump is a master at the media. A master at reading the public. Trump is Reagan - goofy statements, brilliantly delivered. I would not be surprised at all to see him as the nominee.
It would be like an answer to President Sanders' prayers.

I agree entirely with this, when listening to him, I had the same impression you had about his rantings over reporters. He's a very h**eful and dangerous man...and knows nothing of the Constitution.

As opposed to Obama, who presumably knows the Constitution and just ignores it when that fits his ideology?

Much less scary than the jug eared amateur in the White House now. If we could just figure out a way to get the community organizer to play golf every day for the next year then we have a chance of surviving him. I am sure he would cooperate.
rather shallow ... thoughts I mean.

Shallow? You above all others should be able to recognize shallow. But you got it wrong this time.

If Trump becomes, he will be tempered by his cabinet. Also if he choose the right running mate, that will help as well. People are tired of business as usual.

You are correct soba. People are indeed tired of "business as usual" inside the beltway and he does have lib's scared to death. All one need do to verify this is look at the posts submitted on UHH by them, with their never ending insults, vitriol and obvious hatred for the man.
All of his detractors; dem's, establishment pubbies and the main stream media have done everything in their power to bring the man down, but can't seem to do it. His support continues to grow on a daily basis, and this has them scared.
I have often stated here on the forum I didn't think he could ever secure the nomination, however now I'm rethinking that position, as he does appeal to many with his positions on islamic terrorists, the economy, i*****l a***ns and immigration.
If he does secure the GOP nomination I would support him simply because of the stark differences in his and hillary's positions. I would much rather cast my b****t for an obnoxious, bombastic in your face guy who tells you like it is, than an ethically challenged, lying woman who would give everything to everybody, and say or do anything to become the first woman president. She is as phony as a three dollar bill!

The same attempts to poison the well with Trump were used against Reagan. What Trump has done, way more so than Reagan, is smash the Overton Window. He redefined the boundaries of "acceptable" national discourse, broadening it beyond the Progressive induced and limited restriction of politically correct boundaries, to where the average person dwells and thinks. He is a threat to Progressives and the entrenched in power neocon arm of the Progressive l**ters. In other words, Statists h**e him and must do everything to try and stop him. He threatens their world.

Doesn't threaten me. You right wing lunatics think you are in the majority. You are not (look who's president).
When President Sanders ushers in our socialist utopia, you and your fellow travelers will have to live with your impotence. And, judging by the ages in here, you guys have had a great deal of practice with that.
