why do you want to change it?
In the menu select "Image quality". Pick the ones on the left. Or, read the manual.

Buffy, without looking, can DPI even be set in a camera??
Are you referring to PPI??? ;-)

perhaps it has something to do with printing directly from camera to printer.
What kind of printer are you using?
DPI (dots per inch) is an expression of the density of dots made by a printer.
PPI (pixels per inch) is a measurement of the pixel density (resolution) of an electronic image device, such as a computer monitor or camera.
You probably mean PPI.
This can be set in a couple of different places on the 6D. One place sets the ppi of the images as they are taken. The other can be used to "resize" the PPI of an image already on the camera's memory card.
To set the PPI of the images as they are taken. Go into the very first menu item "Image Quality". You can select one of three RAW file sizes or 8 jpeg sizes.....or both.
To "resize" jpeg images that are already on the memory card ...go to the 8th menu tab (the second one with the little arrow icon) and select "resize"
To create a jpeg from a RAW file already on the camera you can go to "RAW image processing" under the 7th menu tab (first tab with arrow icon) where you can select a number of different PPI jpeg quality levels.
All that being said....there is something called DPOF (direct print order format) which enables printing directly from a camera and the 6D does have this functionality. There may be a way to adjust the dpi once the camera is connected to a compatible printer. I have never used this and I don't know anyone who has.

I just tried direct printing from my 6D for the first time. I can't find anywhere to select the DPI that the printer should use.
So....I don't believe there is a DPI setting on the camera anywhere.
