Looking to update. Nikon D7200 or D7100. D7100 about $300.00 cheaper. Is it worth the difference?
Just general photography. Landscapes and people. Currently have a Nikon D70s.
Even though the D7200 is an update over the D7100, it's not a significant one. I'd go for the D7100 and save $300.00 toward a good lens.

What specifically is the D70s not doing that you need it to do?
I generally believe you should get the latest model.
I spoke to a salesmen at Service Photo in Maryland yesterday.
He stated that both of these cameras will drop in price in mid January. Maybe old off for a couple of weeks. PS . He was a former NIKON representative. Good hunting.

the d7200 will give you a larger buffer and will work better with high ISO. if you are not shooting action or very high ISO, the d7100 will work great. actually, the d7100 is better with low ISO than the d7200.
what ever you purchase, always consider ff lenses when you buy lenses, as you may want to upgrade to a full frame camera in the future, such as the d750, and you will not need to upgrade your lenses as well when you do.
