This is one of the remaining, but rapidly shrinking, shops where a fine mechanical watch can be reliably repaired and serviced: Mark Anderson in Eugene.

Nikon D3300 with 16-85 Nikkor.

There is not many of these shops around any more. The digital age but them out of business.

My Father's trade for some 70 years, grew up surrounded by watches and the clanking of the clocks

Thank you Lightcatcher. I love to go to this shop--the atmosphere is tangible--
--and Mark keeps my 55 year-old Omega to within 2 minutes a month.

Hey, me too! My father was a certified master clock and watch maker.I did a bit of work myself...took three courses with the British Horological Institute many years ago.

It was my father's full time occupation for many years but I only worked it part time to help him out when he was swamped. The digital age took care of the repairs to lower-end watches (except for battery replacement), but mechanical watches will always have a following. There's just something tangible and satisfying about wearing an intricate and beautiful hand-made piece of fine machinery.
My nephew, a graduate of Lititz Watch Technicum (Rolex's school) has recently taken over my father's old shop at my parent's farm location along with his business partner.
