Output all magenta tinged, not printing yellow on utility test despite a full yellow cartridge. Nozzle cleaning did nothing, I feared a print head problem. However a $3.50 replacement yellow ink via Amazon completely solved the problem. Not clear why the defective cartridge wouldn't flow (it did provide yellow ink when touched by my finger). Lucked out this time although I am still tempted to get a second new Pixma Pro-100 for $150 or less offered on Craigs list in Phoenix.

Chances are if you weren't using $3.50 cartridges you wouldn't have a problem.
Some Printers are date sensitive with their ink cartridges.
If the cartridge is out of date, even though it's full, it won't print.
Check the expiration dates on all cartridges before you purchase them.

Disagree. I used nothing but Canon cartridges in my Pixma 9000 and it lost the printer head almost as soon as out of warranty and cost (at the time) around $175 to repair. I personally feel ink is the biggest rip off in the photography arena, at least from an amateur, enthusiast point of view.
