I will be at Viera Wetlands on Sunday 12/27/15 shooting wildlife. I will also have my bodypods, monopods, and facial stabilizers to demo if anyone is in the area and would like to try them out.
If you have a relatively large lens, like to do birds in flight, and/or would like more precision control over your aiming and weight management - this should be of interest !
The exact things I use and will be showing are not available commercially - but there are some similar things in the marketplace that are more expensive and/or not as good IMO.
If you are good at DYI you can make your own - or I will be making a small number available for purchase.
The pod itself also makes a great carpod - perfect for use at Viera or Blackpoint in Titusville. It is also great for low angle shots from the ground - especially it you have a tilting LCD.
This shows the light weight version of the bodypod

This shows the Manfro 234 with Arca/Swiss adapter

This shows the range of motion of the pod itself 21-30 inches

So, what separates this pod from a normal short monopod ?? Well, the bottom section is constant diameter fiberglass with NO flip-locks to get in the way, slow you down or be uncomfortable to carry/handle. My pod adjusts from the top with the push of a botton and locks in place automatically for SPEED.

I love homemade rigs. I've seen that paint pole a number of times at the Depot and thought of modifying it. Next time I will pick it up. I made something like it for a GoPro. Thanks for the good pics.

Nice rig!!!
Looks like it is both comfortable AND effective.
IF I were closer I would make the ride down to check out your demonstration. As it is, the pictures will have to do.

Understood.
The weather is bad everywhere. Cold and raining here in upstate N.Y. but NO snow.
