A Kenora tradition that started about 20 years ago with ice candles at the cemetery lit on Christmas eve. Every year it seems to be more last year around 6000.

What a great tradition. Where do you get the ice candles?

Make my own in a 5 or 3 gallon pail fill it with water and depending on how cold might have to leave it outside for 24hrs up to 36 hrs. Bring the pail in to the house for 30 min and the ice loosens up and take it outside and hit the bottom with a hammer and pour the water out the walls are 1-3 inches thick. The cemetery also make the ice candles they sell em for $10.00 they start making them in late Oct have a refrigerated trailer.
