I got what is probably the best Christmas present ever. My grandson entered a photo in a county fair photo contest, in the high school division, and was awarded the grand champion ribbon in that class. (He is a H.S. senior) For Christmas he came up to me and said, "Thanks for all that you taught me,Gran'pa" and gave me that grand champion ribbon mounted in a shadow box! Man, I was touched by that. Now I have to find just the right place to put it on a wall. That was special.

Wingpilot,
That was really a great Christmas Present.

Nice.............
Very rewarding.
I got my 100mm macro lens. While I was wishing for it, I wasn't expecting it, so it was a most lovely surprise from my husband.
Plus, 2 weeks ago I won a 50mm f/1.8 from my camera shop. So call it a double Christmas surprise.

Why hasn't anyone asked "What did you get for Christmas?"?
I've gotten ( and given ) some great gifts over the years , including my first DSLR last Christmas , ( I was a 35 mm film holdout ) . But the greatest gift I ever received is one that is under my Christmas tree every year since I first got it , Christmas morning 1956 , a Lionel train ! I was only six months old when I got it , so the guys at the firehouse would kid my Dad that he bought the gift for himself ! lol
So I guess it's more than just a train . It's 59 Christmas mornings full of good memories . Thanks Dad .
Who can report they got that long desired out-of-this-world camera, lens, tripod, flash, or-.
Yongnuo ring lite flash and a drone. Not sure which one will get me into more trouble. All I can do is try. lol
