Horrizontal oak tree

I really like the composition of this horrizontal oak tree. Being that it was dark in these trees, HDR seemed to be the logical choice to bring out the detail. I purposesly did not overcook the image. I hope you like it. For best viewing I would download it!

Nice job Brent on making the pic more visible in the details while not making it a cartoon like pic which way to many photographers. Nice job on using HDR for what it was meant for.

Thanks so very much Carl. The first time I got into HDR I must say that I probably went to far, and after doing it for as long as I have, I am very sensitive to overcooking the images. If anything I now undercook them to make sure they look believable and natural. It's still the best way I know of to get all the detail in the very dark areas while still retaining the details in what would have been the blown out parts.

I agree the composition is excellent. Personally I would have liked to see a slight bit more color in the leaf carpet. However, since I didn't see the actual real view I would defer to whatever that was. Also it is your image so you are the one who has to be happy with it. I can accept it ether way as it is a unique capture.

Thanks for your thoughts on this one Larry. I was very sensitive about trying to make this image look as natural as possible. I didn't want to PUSH things to far and that is why the color of the leaves are not over saturated even a little! Merry Christmas!
