Best Way to Migrate New Photos to Photoshop?

Uploading after a photography session, my photos automatically appear in Apple Photos on my Mac. This is fine for basic editing, especially leveling and cropping. When I want to further process in PS, I move my photo of interest to the desktop and then drop it in Photoshop.

This works fine, but is cumbersome. Is there a more efficient way to take the entire batch, after cropping, to PS?

Thank you ...

To migrate denotes the use of a database program which Photoshop is not. Photoshop deals with one photo at a time, does it very well and then moves on. (trivia buffs; where did this line come from?)

As to using Photoshop, why wouldn't you simply right click the file where it sits and choose open with Photoshop, do your edits and either save or save as?

We have a winner folks. Major Charles Winchester from the MASH series. He used the line twice in the first episode he took over the role of Hawkeye and BJ antagonist from Major Frank Burns more affectionately known as ferret face. The first utterance was as he was prepping for his first surgical duty and the second time was during his first surgery when he was being pushed to speed it up from Hawkeye. That brought Colonel Potter to have BJ shove Winchester aside and show him how meatball surgery is supposed to go. Your prize will be delivered by Santa on Christmas Eve, unless you managed to get on Santa's naughty list.

photoshop comes with bridge (a database for images) and adobe camera raw. i have always uploaded my images directly to bridge. bridge is a great way to add files and to be able to see all the files on your computer, not just the photos.

i then open up to 30 images with adobe cameral raw. i do most of the processing there, delete whatever images i definitely don't want, make the adjustments, then open them in photoshop.

i then go thru each photo, making adjustments as needed. then make an action to batch process the images, i want to save.

while many photographers use lightroom, i learned with photoshop and find it easier for me to quickly review, adjust in acr, open in photoshop and save the entire batch.

Take a look at Lightroom, if you want a more powerful image cataloging, management and light editing tool tool that's designed to work very well hand-in-hand with Photoshop.
