Dying flowers

I found these 3 week old flowers in my daughters room, along with a lot of other 3 week old things (water bottles, clothes, etc). My instinct is to saturate them because they are flowers (and are supposed to be colorful) but the fact that they are shriveling up and dying makes me think they should have another kind of look to them but I can't figure it out. Any ideas are appreciated.

Bob- I assume that is Topaz Glow? It is something I don't own but would love to get.

Or perhaps a less subtle Glowing Edges tweaked in LR (reminds me of those posters you used to get in the 70s).

I used Topaz Simplify>Cartoon by D. Pachero. Tweaked the line size and detail. Dodged and burned to create more depth.
