Thanks for posting! Do you or anybody else know whether using a Perspective Control (aka Shift) Lens is mandatory or recommended for exterior views of homes that are only 1 - 3 stories tall?

I don't have a shift lens but have played around with perspective correction in Photoshop. If you are interested, look on You Tube for tutorials which will demonstrate the use of the tool and before and after photos.

I am a canon shooter, and I use older Nikon PC (perspective control) lenses to shoot all my architectural shots. They adapt very well to the canon camera and I have both the 35mm and 28 mm versions. They are much cheaper then the tilt shift lenses, because they don't have the tilt capability. They are also manual only lenses but they have a very nice design to handle the F stop setting which works very well in manual mode.
