Replacing Pixma Pro 9000 II

I fear my 9000 II will have to be replaced, it is printing very magenta prints, no yellow on the utility test print page despite replacing the yellow cartridge and performing several deep nozzle cleanings. By coincidence there are more than a dozen sealed in the box Pixma Pro 100 printers offered here in the Phoenix area on Craigs list for about $125 to $150. These all appear to be part of bundled camera/lens/printer combos with folks not needing the large format printer. Is this printer the equivalent of my defunct 9000 II?

The Pro-100 is an excellent printer. Before you commit to a local printer from a private party, make absolutely clear that the box is UNOPENED, and contains new ink cartridges.

I strongly suggest that you look at B&H website to see if they have a special sale of the Pro-100, with a 50-sheet box of 13x19-inch paper, and free shipping, at a substantial cost savings. After my Canon rebate, my out-of-pocket expense was $50, which is the cost of a 50-sheet box of Canon paper.

Thanks! B&H is $149 after mail in rebate, no mention of paper. All the local offerings here in Phoenix Craig List are sealed boxes (minus UPC code) with a 50 sheet box of paper for $125 to $175, most $149.

Gopherit! Remember that the printer weighs about 65-pounds, so drive a truck or SUV for pick-up.

And have my son along too. As an aside, just learned that Staples will recycle old electronic items such as 60 pound defunct printers, limit 6 items per person, per day at no charge; much more convenient than waiting for our city's quarterly disposal dates.

Staples charges for that service, just so you know.

They removed the UPC code so they could take advantage of the rebate. I'm not sure I would then want the printer. I've been required to supply the UPC code on printers to obtain warranty service.

Can't image requiring a UPC code, but a sales receipt and serial number would be a different matter. Not everyone keeps the packaging to have upc code in the first place. Throwing away the box voids the warranty? I don't think so.
