I could not resist trying to capture this double sun flare but I fear it is just too much, tell me whether you'd keep it in the swamp collection or not, please.

Any suggestions, fiddling, or edits are welcome, as always.

Some subset of the swamp shots will go to refresh my little gallery wall so I am thinking "print" on whichever of these I settle on.

Keep it. Don't fiddle with it. It is simply excellent as is. Don't let anyone push you into making changes or doing it their way.

Thank you Pierre. (Much as I welcome and learn from feedback, I will always end up doing what I want with my images, even if I am dead wrong:))

Minnie, it just doesn't look right to me. I can't pin it for sure, but it might be that a reflection of a flare is not a flare (I am not sure). I am thinking that it would follow the plane of the water (but am not sure).

Hi, Min,
My inclination is to crop just below the upper Sun spot. In so doing you retain all the benefits of its rays/"Jacob's ladders ( both the upper ones as well as those reflected, yet eliminate the distractive effect of the second super-bright spot. One is a lovely reflection, two is just one too much...and an unnecessary distraction in the otherwise beautiful composition.

Best,
Dave

It feels a little odd. The lower "sun" is typical lens flare that required a bit of wrangling with the color to get the green and purple stuff out of it. The upper one is just the sun itself using the usual shooting tricks to get the star effect. I wouldn't think the angle had anything to do with their placement but I'm no expert on it by any means! Thanks for weighing in.

That is something I haven't tried, thanks for the idea. I had an odd feeling about it, that I hadn't resolved, like the two are fighting each other. Thanks for checking in and offering a solution.

looks fine as is
not really the reflection of the sun but it reminds me of the lines from Tolkien where he talks about sun in the sky looking at daisies in a field.

Only I immediatly thought about how he could have made the riddle about the sun (or moon) looking at its reflection in water.

Tolkien! How wonderful, makes me feel a bit better about it. Thank you for these thoughts, I love tying literature to photography, I am such a word-addict. I have wondered if we might make more deliberate connections, here where we have so much leeway for discussion.
