I really feel the B&W gives this an almost timeless feel... any comments or suggestions... on how I could improve it? l've been working on this for my mom, and looking at it too long Jen :-)

Jen I think this looks great!
The B&W works perfectly in enhancing the image, and the detail and lighting are super!
Great job!

Morning Jen, I see you've been staying up late again working on images and it seems you created an image with mood - with feeling.

Nice.

B&W isn't how I see - that said I do see light. Nice window light coming through back lit with a side light camera perspective brings out the texture and the detail of the various parts of the arrangement.

Some might say its a little busy lower center right but to me that area provides both balance to the over all image and gives my eye a nice place to rest a bit - to me the lines and the tonal weight works.

I like the black edge on the left which also gives some balance to the overall image - conscious or not - that was a nice compositional touch.

Some will say the flowers are blown out....to me, they are fine. Detail is not needed everywhere and the image certainly has alot of detail already. But for me, the big + of the light is the mood it creates - somber with hope / quiet yet dynamic.......its a bit like meditation in that way.

good job

ps you might clone out that lone fallen petal......or add a few more...
