heres an example of what im talking about. It doesn't happen all the time, seems more so when its cloudy and im zoomed way in. Camera Canon T3, lense Tamron 70-300 and a Kenko 2X. UV filter.
I also noticed a green haze along the trunk of the tree along with the purple on the left.
Any Idea's?
Thank you. That helped me understand it. Now I know what to look at before taking the pic.
It's probably being caused by the 2X extender and the UV Filter. First try to see if it becomes less with the filter off. What you are doing is adding two pieces of glass to the lens; the filter in front, and the extender between the lens and camera body.

You know what's causin the "purple haze: ;-)
I would also suspect the UV. Take it off and the green should go away with it.
Thanks everyone. Going to go and try again and see what happens.

By the way, it's a pretty good shot of an owl.
Thanks. Here's my favorite one from today. A little soft on focus, but I have to manual focus and the little one didn't keep it's head up very long at a time.
I don't see that purple or green haze in this one.
I must say that owl is an Excellent nest weaver!
