Nude dancers are censored by carefully programed drones in japanese ad campaign.

I would agree with your response, jeep, as it was mine, too ... until I realized that the ad agency or news source that posted this stupid video, which our OP then copied the link from, is completely misusing the word CENSORSHIP, a common mistake among East Asian language users. Except in the most literal sense, I don't believe we native English-speakers would use 'censorship' to describe this. It's merely a brute force means of masking breasts and genitalia; a high tech means employs older technology, i.e. putting an electronic black (or white, who cares,) polygon over said body parts frame by frame.

In my opinion, I believe the OP's title is misleading, but I'm not going to censor him for that. After all, he might not have realized it was.

All rather silly I'd say.

TV news announced last night that anyone who either purchases a drone or has a done they have already purchased must register it with the federal government or face penalties if not registered by that date. I think it was sometime in February of next year. Some may see this as a form of censorship, others may just see it as another tax or registration fee as you would pay for a vehicle. I guess the federal government now owns the air around and above us too.

I guess no one else got beyond the nudity/censorship issue.

My reason for sharing this link was the level of choreography shared between technology and live dance.
1. Were the drones directed in real time to follow the dancers?
2. Were the dancers following a spacial pattern which the drones were then programmed to follow? If so, is GPS precise enough?
3. Or were the drones tracking anatomical features?

Okay. Why, then, did you title it: Drones and Censorship?

The article used those words in its title.
BTW, what drew you to the post in the first place?

I think we got it. Just threw in the added piece on registering drones anyway as you did mention "censorship".

Precisely those two words in your Topic title/header, as it was listed under Newest Topics.

I've got no problem with drone registration. If one crashes through my window, I'd want to know who it belongs to. The registration fee is only $5 for as many drones an individual owns.

They are waiving the fee if registered by January 16,2016. If one does fly through my window, it could also be a nice gift especially if it one of the really expensive ones with a nice GoPro camera attached!
I am wondering if it is just the initial registration or what happens for private sales after it is registered. Could be interesting.
