Wildlife Forum or section?

Has anybody ever considered that such a section here would be a very good addition to the forum? I ask because there is an underwater forum that for what Ive seen has very, very low transit. Perhaps making a forum like I propose would include much more variety, including any underwater wildlife. A forum section here is dedicated to BIF and birds in water?? Isn't that like too specific? I think a wildlife section would make much more sense and its a very common interest shared by many.

Anyways just thought I commented some of the my views about the current section selection in the forums.

I like your idea. I have proposed in the past a native plant (wildflower) section, as per my particular interest, but your suggestion to broaden the topic rather than narrow it is better.

We shall see if this thread attracts interest.

Ive also thought the same thing, wildlife and nature together, would encompass a lot of people/pics

Typically all it requires is someone to manage it. This may help -

I think such a section is a great idea. I would use it often.

A wildlife section would encompass everything from fauna, flora in a variety of climates, locations etc. It would make more sense than this highly selective forums like underwater photography and BIF specific sections.

I like you idea. I also thought I had a good idea for a "travel" section. I started a thread and had lots of support. But nothing happened.

I have no idea what the economics of a site like this is, but I would think that more traffic would mean more ad dollars. But it is a privately owned site and not a democracy so you and I don't get a vote. We can only offer opinions.

I will say, that volunteering to be a monitor seems to increase the odds of getting a section started.

Anyway, good luck.

Thanks for the support. Im really not interested in been a monitor, more so with the mentality some here have and how prone they are to distort and misinterpret things around this place. I dont want anyone to get the wrong idea thinking my interest is to be a monitor or moderator. As long as the idea is considered I think that will be good enough for me. I foresee that a wildlife section would be a very, very popular one.

Anyone can take a photo of a bird in a tree, or sitting on the ground. The main purpose of BIF/BOW is to educate interested bird photographers in exposure & technique to properly capture a moving, winged target. Most bird photographers realize that long lenses are often desired, which also require an education to use properly.
Don't knock a discipline unfamiliar to yourself. The BIF/BOW Forum is more than just a showcase.

Feel free to volunteer to manage a new WildLife Photography section. Just e-mail your request to Admin.

Its not unfamiliar to me, at all. Just feel free to check my Flickr. I have a whole album dedicated to BIF. Long lenses?, well I have a Canon 500mm f/4 IS, a Canon 400mm f/5.6 and a Bigmos 150-500 and two extenders (1.4x and 2x)....I have a "notion"of long lenses and how to use them. And to be clear I have zero intention of turning this into a personal matter, lets keep that crystal clear.

Its too specific that's all. It should be part of a wildlife forum, not a solo act, IMO. If I propose a section, why should I be the one to manage it? Its only an idea to improve, IMO, the site....hey, Im giving the idea free of charge! I'm not after anything. If it is a successful one it would even increase traffic. It would certainly have more traffic than the underwater and BIF section.

Most of the wildflower photographers seem to go to the True Macro section
