Be prepared for a lot of asinine questions about why you "need" to upgrade. Be certain you just don't have a fleeting case of GAS.

What are your reasons for wanting to upgrade? You might want to upgrade your lens. With $2000.00 dollars you can upgrade some lens and might be better down the road, especially if you would buy lens that would work on full frame at a later date. I do not know what you are wanting to upgrade to achieve. You have a decent camera and it would seem the next step if you want to stay with photography would be better lens. A good lens make more difference than you might think.

Lol okay, thanks. I always worry about the Rebel not being weather proof enough????? Just a minor reason. Christmas time and I may be looking for a deal.

Good point on the Lens. Just a little concerned about the Rebel not being a good weather sealed camera??

Hi Mitzi, and welcome to your second step in "moving up" or "up grading". You have given us a price target but failed to tell us what your goal (s) is (are). Here is more of what we need to know. Do you want to go from crop sensor to full frame sensor? Are sports included in your list of what you want to shoot? By sports I am including anything with motion; human, animal, or machine. Will fine-art or landscape ever be your subject? Are you ever going to be shooting anything with less than normal lighting? Are your currently owned lenses EF-S or EF? Is this camera an intermediate step or is it the final level in your photography? How knowledgable in used and refurbished gear are you? Are you open to renting equipment? These and several other questions need to be addressed before you make a move. Keep in mind that the answers to some of these questions might lead to other questions you had not considered. Sometimes you look at a subject seriously for the first time and begin to see it in a different light and get really interested in it. You are taking a drink out of a fire hose a, lot of water comes rushing out, and you swallow what you can. Good Luck!

Unless you are going to be shooting wild life or for some other reason need a camera the would be water proofed enough I do not think that is that much of concern. You can get cases that will protect you camera but what about the lens that you have, most are not water proofed. You can get water proofed cases I believe for under water or rain protection. I personally would not worry about it.

I looks like you have up-lined from T2i to T5i. I would be the first to step-up with 7DII as a go to sports camera. Many are using it because of the qualities that have shoot it to the head of the pack. Your existing glass on the Mar2. But if you are a sports shooter you would want to up grade glass. I have some great EFs glass for my crop bodies. Shooting any of the sports mentioned can be done with f/4 gear as long as it is out side during the day or a well lit building. Darker venues call-out for 2.8 glass. Basket Ball shooting close can use primes short to medium in f/1.8 speed.

Now is a great time to see special buys. The big on line shops as well as Canon direct. Do forget to look for refurbished. Canon has a great refurbished program. Get newsletters from everybody. I saw the 7Dii @ 999 USD earlier this year. I bought a 6 D last year at promotional period when combined with Credit Card promotion made it very right. I knew what I wanted I waited for pricing and a did a planned spontaneous purchase.

$2000.00 can get you a nice mid-level Canon. My advice is look online at Canon's web site and you can save some money buying used or refurbished. You can get special deals this time of year.

7DII. It is made for your type of shooting, and except for the 1Dx it is the best DSLR Canon makes for sports, etc. The current price is well within your budget at $1,399 (new, not used, at B&H) and you can use all your current lenses. Within your criteria you can't get a better camera.

davidrb; thank you for your insight. Yes I like shooting sports; basketball and baseball. These are t-ball up to High school ball. Rodeos that I attend are outside and at night,in low lit arenas. No I do not plan on doing land scapes or fine art.I do love to shoot wild life too.Would consider renting lenes,to try some out. No I am not use to buying used or refurbish lenes. So I would only buy through a site with good ratings and return policies. Thinking I will stay with a crop senor camera.I have a Canon EF 70-300 1;4-5;6 IS USM. Sigma 50-150 1;2.8 APO DC HSM and EFS 55-250 1;4-5.6 IS macro.
