I'm looking to purchase a photo printer that would enable me to print 13 by 19
prints. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good printer?

Canon Pima pro 100 after rebate is really inexpensive. Check out canon's web site, adorama unique photo to check for rebate offers

I just got the Canon PRO100 from Adorama including a free box of 50 sheets of 13x19 paper. But you should check around for best price after rebate.

However, make sure you understand how BIG this printer is so you are not totally surprised when it arrives.

I have an old canon pro 9000 mark II which will not feed the photo paper anymore. I was disappointed that it didn't last longer and the color on the prints wasn't as accurate as I hoped. The prints looked washed out. Have you printed anything from your canon 100?

The Pro100 is an awesome printer. Just to let you know, it's like razor blades. The printer's cheap, wait till you need to replace the ink.

Many of us find the 9000 mark II to be a dependable workhorse. How long have had it? How many prints did you run through it? Did you use Canon or third party supplies?

Both Canon and Epson seem to produce well regarded products, it would be interesting to know more about your problems.

You're disappointed after how many years of ownership? this was introduced at the end of 2008. Printer color accuracy is only possible when you color manage the entire workflow, from camera to display, to paper&ink. If you don't have a means of profiling all the variables, then accuracy is not really possible. BTW, I had the same printer - and it was quite amazing for the money. I used a Datacolor screen and printer profiling setup and everything was pretty much spot-on. It wasn't until everything was profiled.

I am quite pleased with my Canon PIXMA Pro-100 color printer. I am in the process of printing 13x19-inch color prints, which I will frame for Christmas presents.

To read other discussions about the Pro-100 printer and color printing in genertal, I recommend that you drop by the UHH section entitled Printers and Color Printing Forum at http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-120-1.html

My first 13x19-inch color print from a Pro-100 printer, during a local Canon presentation. Now, all my prints are borderless.

I use the Canon Pixma 8720 and get excellent results. It's reasonably priced. I also have the Epson Stylus Photo R3000. More expensive. Not much difference between prints from the two.

The Canon Pixma Pro-100 is the best printer that I have ever owned. The photo results are incredible. I also own the Pixma Pro-9000 Mark II. It continues to be a very strong and reliable printer. I use nothing but Canon ink in both printers, and have never had a problem. And I print a fair amount. The ink may be more expensive, but third-party ink is cheaper for a reason, and can lead to problems with the print heads. It would not surprise me to hear that those who do experience problems with the Pro-100 or Pro-9000 are using third party inks.

I simply love my Epson Stylus Photo R3000. I've printed lots of 13x19's and also much smaller formats with zero problems. The driver interface is very useful for tweaking the printer's profile to match the paper. I know the Canon Pixma pro 100 has a great reputation, but I recommend the Epson.

I have had my Canon pro 100 for 2 years this month. No problems at all, beautiful results. The ink is a little expensive, but B+H has the best price I have found. You can get a multipack and save a little cash, but I don't think you will care after you see the final results.

Ditto on the Canon pro 100, great prints, but, yes, ink isn't cheap.

And I love my Epson 3880 for both quality and color accuracy.

It depends on how much you want to spend on ink, how much you will print, and how big an initial investment you want to make.

Keeping an inkjet unclogged and alive is a bit expensive and frustrating at times.

If you are just printing the odd picture once a month or two, then I'd not even buy a printer.

OR I'd buy a Dye Sublimation printer. No ink to futz with, you can print pictures months apart and not worry about inkjet clogs.

Personally, I don't print large, I send my large stuff to a print house.

I only have a 4 x 6 dye sub printer at home for the shoe box prints.
