Regardless of what others have to say I believe that if you have local access to these you should try them before you buy to see if they fit your purpose.
You could always improvise a white index card to use as a bounce surface and try it to try to determine if that is good enough.
I do not use Sony cameras but I have had excellent results bouncing the light from white walls and ceilings, obviously with a dedicated flash.
I really like them. It takes the harshness off of the standard unit. I often held the flash up with a finger for a ceiling bounce to then see the flash demarcation line on a subject from inconsistent flash angle. These keep the flash up high enough. Also they are thin enough to adjust the flash bounce a bit backward or forward. You can close and open the flash with it in place. The flash also opens and set in place behind the card. The product is elegantly simple. Also they don't take up much room. I don't use the amber though.

These look interesting!
But I do not have a Sony; love their products though!!
However, my biggest anger is shooting from landscape to portrait mode with SB-600 flash. I get that horrid shadow of what ever I am shooting!
These Flash Bounce items are for the in-camera flash, no?
Interesting! Reckon how one would set up such an apparatus on a Nikon?
Thanks for sharing!

Very clever. I wonder if there's a simple work-around using a finger. Maybe.
yeah.. you can hold it up with your finger, but it's kind of awkward nad makes you shake. That only allows you to bounce it up.

I've used an old 35mm film canister. The clear plastic ones then cut a slot in it slide over the flash head and put the cap back on. It takes the harshness out of the flash and it doesn't cost me anything at all. I keep a few colored strips to put inside to stain the flash when I want. Seems to work for me. Yellow and orange seem to work the best.
Looked at them but never pulled the trigger. So many diffuser options, so little space to store them. lol
I agree using a finger to bounce is not a great option. It appears just about all of the light is directed upward, very little if any, towards subject. Maybe okay, maybe not.
Reviews seem extremely positive - 4.5 out of 5 stars.
I may order one! Certainly less $$ than a Nissin i40!!
Talk about impulse purchase!! Just ordered one! $18.50 with shipping. Wife will be thrilled. Merry Christmas to me!!!!! lol
