Do you own this model, or have you had experience using this camera?
This is my first DSLR camera, I want to learn to shoot and edit RAW images.
Do you have any experience with RAW image editing?
All advice or suggestions will be appreciated.2

For beginning DSLR users. Ken Rockwell's site will tell you all about the 3300. Just don't believe everything he says.

The best image quality available at the price point, bar none! Entry level features and controls but you will love its images.

Read the manual until you can almost memorize it. Go to a book store, sometimes they have books dedicated to certain models.

First, just bought one and it can do amazing things. Google Nikon D3300 and you will find lots of resources. Also go to youtube and do the same thing. Lots of tutorials available. I downloaded the manual onto my smartphone and table. Always have one of these with me. Check bookstore to see if they have any books. I found the magic lantern series to be very helpful with my other cameras.. Enjoy and shot, shot, shot.

Use to use Capture NX for photo editing but just recently switched to Adobe PSE 14. This program can be used by both beginners and by experienced photographers.

I use a D3300, and love it. I don't edit images now, but may in the future. RAW is what to shoot. You can then edit them as RAW images, or convert them to JPG, or whatever. For now, I let others do my processing / editing for me, so I can't advise much on that. I suppose that Light Room, or PhotoShop, in their latest incarnations would be good, if you want to go that route. The camera / lenses give great bang for the buck. The price you paid was good. Use your gear as much as possible, as practice makes perfect....or close to perfect. I like the fact that the D3300 allows for in camera Panorama work, and in camera image overlay.

You will get sharper images from Prime (single focal length) lenses, but it will often be more convenient to use a long zoom (18-300mm, or such), as you won't have to lug a lot of prime lenses around, and bother with changing them. Yet, the long zooms will produce images which are less sharp, and they will have smaller maximum apertures, and thus less low light capability. So, everything in photography is a trade off, and you have to decide what you need for a particular shot / outing. The D3300 offers many options as far as lenses, speedlights, etc, go. It is a great beginner system, and can grow with your skill, and interest, levels. When I upgrade to a Full Frame system, it will be a D8XX, and I will keep the D3300 as a backup.

I have a D3100 (older version of the D330) and I love it. Buy a spare battery, and have it with you whenever you shoot pictures.
