Had a little drool going there.
And the retail on this gem will be...?
And your source for this info?
Sounds too good to be true!
Sounds interesting enough but, I think I'll wait until the 860 comes out and the price of the 850 drops. I'm pretty happy with my 810  :D

 That is my thought about getting a D810 next year.

They said $3,800 - $4,200.
Sounds competitive based on current competition. The spec is impressive.

Well, I did wait long enough to get a great deal on a 810.
Sorry but this a rumor like everything else (810s). As long as nothing comes out in one of the trade-show don't even droll, you will be dead and desiccated when something (else) comes out.
Fnnny I was just on Nikon Rumors yesterday and not a word mentioned other than for the D5.

Nikon Rumors has good ears, and a good handle on what is credible too. Likewise Nikon keeps very good control of what leaks out!
I doubt that Nikon is going to let much out about anything that is competition with the D5 until after the D5 is released. The D800, as an example, was a bit of a surprise coming right on the heals of the D4 being released. The D810 was released 5 months after the D4S.
Expect a D810 replacement somewhere from 2 to 8 months after the D5 is released, currently rumored for a few months into 2016.
And as for the rumored D850 specifications... they don't sound realistic. Sounds more like a clueless list of what a less than knowledgeable "consumer grade photog" might think would be important. Articulated screen, built in GPS and Wifi, and only 42 MP all could be true, but that sounds like a totally consumer grade camera, not a prosumer product like the D800 and D810.
