I used to shoot rodeo for a living on ESPN, Fox Sports, people like that, I was a freelancer. It was fun.
I worked behind the shoots on the catwalk, shooting down into the shoot while the rider was getting aboard.
The freaky thing is bulls are much easier than horses. Bulls are normally calm and easy going. From time to time they'd get curious about my camera and try to sniff the lens but that's about it.
Horses however are very hyper and nervous. If they stand up in the shoot, which we see from time to time, they're swinging their front hooves at the camera because they're afraid of it. I was never hit by a hoof but I know that I came pretty close a few times. I learned to stand about at the saddle so if the horse did come up I would be out of range.
Your shots are nice. Brings back the above memories and lots more for me. At 72 however, I'm glad those days are behind me.
