I have one just like it. It is not so good wide open and does much better at f8, and even better at f11. When wide open, it can bloom quite a bit.

This lens is not exactly a great lens for astrophotography since it blooms a lot when wide open. Here is a shot of Messier 103, the star cluster in the center. Notice the bright star at the lower left which is showing the aperture blades. I am guessing this was about f8. The f4.5 was not real usable for stars at all. But stopped down, they are quite nice pin points. I considered showing an image at f4.5, but it looks so bad, I decided not to show it. There is a lot of CA and blooming.

Second picture is at a distance of perhaps 1.5 miles. There was some CA which was reduced in Lightroom, and it did affect the sharpness. It was at its worst with the bright white roof.

Third picture was taken at f11. And this one turned out the sharpest. It is also cropped quite a bit to see the sharpness.

Yes, definitely big. I wonder how the camera likes all that weight hanging off the mount. Luckily manufacturers have learned how to make them smaller, lighter, and better.

You need to hire a Sherpa to carry your camera equipment. Good shooting with it.😊😊😊
