Do you have any photography pet peeves?

Mine:

Selective Colouring (it makes my eyes start to twitch)
Fake background blur/bokeh added in post
People that purchase their first DSLR and open up a photography business the next month (or even sooner).

Do you have any?

Selective coloring
Most HDR - makes MY eyes twitch

Your last peeve seems to be the reason for your peeving today. This too shall pass. I believe that people can tell the difference between "think I can" and "real professional".

Did I miss a post today? I haven't see anything about someone trying claim to be a professional, it really is just a pet peeve of mine.

Certain photographers trying to force their way of doing things on everyone.

Bad photographs of pets... especially when they are called "fur kids." Nothing makes me want to gouge my eyes out with pencils more than a close-up, out of focus image of some little yappy dog with bows in its fur sitting in someone's lap.

And, of course, it will have zombie eyes from the on camera flash.

Unfortunately, not real big on good photos of pets, either.

Unaware, uncaring or just plain rude people who seemingly insinuate themselves into or block posed shots.

Sorry, thought something sparked the post. I've seen people in my hometown think they can start a photo business up with absolutely no talent let alone any business sense.

Mine is the mega ego person who insists on having the latest and most expensice DSLR with the biggest asortment of lense & filters - the latest CS version & lightroom - but insistes their photos are perffict right out of the camera.
being around someone like that takes the fun out of my photography.

For me:

Bad HDR. Some have the gift to get great shots out of it, others just over do it all the time.

Photographers who think they are professional just because they have a DSLR and then take a ton of shots at a 45 degree angle all the time.(I have one in my area and it drives me nuts to see them displayed. Every shoot as 3 or 4 done that way.)

Maybe a bit different, but I hate people who THINK I'm professional because I have a camera. They want me to take photos that I am uncomfortable with. If I screw up, I would feel bad.

These are all funny.

ONE of my pet peeves are those who for some reason never give real criticism for photos no matter how bad they are...every blown-out-blurry-mis-composed-over-sharpened mess is "awesome!" or better yet "wall-worthy!"

And the pencil eye-gouging comment was hilarious!

That is true as well, I have friends and family to pat me on the back and tell me I rock, I don't need that on a photography forum (plus I am so far from rocking that it isn't even fun).

My biggest are the "Sloptographers" who have the attitude of, "Just shoot it any way, you can always fix it in post."

So much PP that the subject takes on a plastic look. You know when you see an 80 year old who looks 12.
