A few days ago, someone was asking about a way to carry their camera that didn't involve a neck strap. I can't remember who it was, and I think others might be interested in this info too.

It's an interesting idea. For me, if I was really concerned about not having it around my neck, I hang the strap from a shoulder. That's not ideal either, but it's cheap.
I've thought about alternatives.
I would probably get one of those hip holster style bags that will take a 200mm. This would allow me quick access to the camera if I needed, but have it protected in a bag if not in use.

Obviously, this clip is another idea.

That is one of many ways. Very interesting.

Another option. But also another option that makes it virtually impossible to use yout tripod! I still think a Sling Strap is the best option to a neck strap.

The question I'd have is whether you use a tripod and, if so, if the head is Arca-Swiss compatible. The plate that fastens to the bottom of the camera is Arca-Swiss compat, but you're going to have to screw another quick release plate to the one on the camera if you use the system on a different style head.

Otherwise, it looks like a pretty neat carrying solution. I have the Cotton Carrier and really like it, but would give this clip system a try if I didn't.

We'll expect a report if you go ahead and buy it!

The reviews on Amazon indicate the clip and quick release plate are Arca-Swiss compatible.

I've been looking for a suitable replacement for the neck strap.

My specific issues are because of ruptured discs between C5-C6-C7, sustained in an accident.
Even after the surgery about 2 yrs ago, I can't tolerate much of a neck strap even the camera and a small lens on it.

I'd been working on a load bearing vest of military origins, to relieve the strain on my neck from the camera and lens.

Have you considered the Cotton Carrier system? I have one and hang a D300 and a 70-200 f/2.8 Nikkor or 300 f/4 on it and can walk around all day with no neck strain at all. No longer use a neck strap on the camera, but shoot with a hand strap.

Bought one a couple of weeks ago and love it. Used it at the Masters and it worked fine.

I use a CINCH strap. It's awesome for its comfort and stability and even though it uses the tripod connection for one of its points of contact, it will also connect to my tripod's quick release plate, so that problem solved.

Lots of great alternatives to the old, leather never-ready cases back in the film days!

Bit of a sad story really...

In 1979, my husband gifted me with a Mamiya SLR which had one of those "never-ready" leather cases attached to the bottom of it, and a snap off top with strap attached. Loved that camera, still do, but once I basically stopped using film, I neglected caring for that case and it basically dissintegrated. I had the camera cleaned, shot a roll of film with it to ensure it's still functioning (it is) and it now lives in an air-tight container
... along with the strap, which is all that survived of the case.

I have a Cotton Carrier and I love it. I'm able to carry 2 cameras all day with ease. I'm using Canon 20 and 40 D's with a 28-135mm lens and a 100-400mm.
