I find the background distracting. I end up not thinking about the nice statue, but wondering where the picture was taken: Living room? foyer? Kitchen table?

I actually love the background, it looks like they're on a stage with curtains. All of the colors are perfect with the figurine.

I understand Viola, I actually have a version where I took out the background... but I settled on this one because TO ME the door added a frame to the scene and since it was taken in natural light the light in background on the L & R blended with the figure.

But, it's a matter of personal like... so I see your point also.
