the mountain is high, the valley is low, and you're confused 'bout which way to go'
but I'll go with you, where ever you go..
Piet, Subject's sharpness in perfect proportion to the blurred, OOF BG to maximize the perceived 3/D effect! Stacked? Great choice of lyric Beautiful! Dave
thank you Billy - I felt very lucky with this one.

Hi Dave, yeah, stacked, 25 frames, motion blurred to the right, wasp nest in background.
Fascinating subject, beautifully and perfectly photographed!
thank you Linda.

Just a great photograph from conception to execution Piet.
thank you Frank. The concept though was happy accident, which is a good thing - someday perhaps I'll get a good shot through planning and forethought!!!
Love it. Three dimensional quality with the fourth dimension being provided by the falling light.
Light is very temporal when when well handled.
thanks Jim. I am thinking the hive was just the right distance behind the pod thing, resulting in a realistic type background blur. With macro and narrow DOF, it is frigging hard to get a 3D type feeling. The lighting was a large softbox above to the front and a concave diffuser above/behind.

LOL -- can never determine intent from results! My plan was for a dark background, I thought that the light would fall off completely before it hit the hive behind. Then I just took what I had and worked with it. I gave it some motion blur to the right side hoping to make it look like it was moving/floating but don't know how well that idea worked either, truthfully.
