I've been following this ever-changing story like everyone else. I think I may have missed something or the news isn't mentioning it. When an attack like this happens, don't they follow the money? Surely, this young family couldn't have afforded all that firepower, bombs, etc. on a govt job and it's been reported that Farook was talking about going back to college.

Maybe the feds are doing this now, it may have been reported and I missed it. Anyone know?

I believe it was quoted that he earned 71,000 a year, and was still living in an apartment. That is enough to buy 4 guns and the makings of several pipe bombs. He may have been planning going back to college, but when your time comes, when your name is called by your leader, it no longer matters.

I also heard that he made $71,000 but then I heard he only made $50,000 a year. It is believed that ISIS was financing the couple. The money link is being investigated.

$50,000 is what I heard also, then take out what Uncle Sam took out in taxes, makes since, he had to be subsidized by outside sources to afford all that firepower.

Last night they reported he made about $50k/ yr, and they found over $30k is guns, bombs, etc., at the house and garage. The FBI head said its believed they had help financially to make it all happen, and that is the road they are going down. Haven't heard anything today yet.

Thank you for your replies. FBI must be checking who helped them financially. I didn't hear any reports but glad you all did.

When they showed the video of the apartment, the child's room was filled with toys. They had one computer in the child's room, I don't know how many computers they had in all.

Law enforcement is really on top of this, I'm proud of them, they're working long days.

Thanks again!

All that firepower? Had to be funded? Two pistols, two rifles, perhaps $2,000-2,500. Ammo...doable. Some fancy k*****g clothes...not too much. Rent a van...how much can that cost?

Materials for pipe bombs...not much. There's more danger than dollars in pipe bombs.

ISIS approved their action, but hasn't accepted responsibility, has it? I don't think so.

All in all, a doable disaster for not too many bucks.

I haven't heard the report of $30, 000. Four guns, 4,000 rounds, a little tactical equipment. Rent a van.

Pipes and powder, some fuses...$30,000?

Maybe I haven't kept up.

Perhaps you should let the FBI know that they are wasting their time following up on the money.

He was tired of waiting for Obama to finance his student loans, an a******n for his wife, put them into a new home, then....BOOM, it all hit the fan...Double D asked for a similar bailout...

ISIS said its supporters carried out the attack but did not claim direct responsibility...this may change in 5 min. since new info comes out regularly. Tom, I think they had to have money to carry this out, I may be way off but that was one of the first things I thought about.
