Here’s the space shuttle flyover yesterday evening from my yard outside of Moncks Corner, SC at 6:25 PM. That being said, let me point out a few facts; The ISS travels at about 17,227 MPH and makes about 15.7 orbits around the earth per day at an altitude of 255 miles. My Canon T5i was on a tripod using a remote shutter release set to hold the shutter open for 30 seconds.
This means that in the pic I took below, the white line, or ISS flight path, the ISS has covered 143.56 miles!
That, my friends, is walking the dog!
Camera was set on "Shutter Priority" so ISO and aperture was set automatically by the camera. Dark night with no moon so I lightened the photo a little so you can see the background stars and oak trees by my house. Open the pic for a better view.

Knowing nothing about this kind of imaging I am surprised the path is completely straight. I will have to think about the relative path of ISS and a given point on the earth. Great image.

Two things: I think the space shuttles are all retired. And now for the big one; Didn't you mean that you had your camera set to "Shuttle Priority"? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

I know, pretty bad, right?

Thanks for the info & shot. I can usually see the ISS at night and the exact spot varies very little. But on other occasions it appears 90 degrees from where I usually see it. I haven't figured it all out yet.

Sweet!

I was 7 yrs old when Armstrong took his stroll on the moon, so of course space flight has ALWAYS fascinated me.

Cool pic.

Not sure what the original file size was, but at 4MB limit, here is my take on your amazing image. Maybe not as good as yours, but fun to play with!

EDIT: Used the noise limiter in dxo optics pro 10, toyed with the saturation, and lightened the sky JUST a tad. Really prob have to open them side by side to see any difference at all, but it was fun.

Good job- an amazing image!

EDIT 2: Increased the contrast a smidge too.
