It is stuff like this that makes me wish that we could travel back in time.

I finally found some places where I can get my good beer - Newcastle Brown, of course. Would still kill for some decent fish & chips, though...

Since retiring I have been back in the UK just over one year.
Having missed "Fish and Chips" for over twenty years I have tried them on two seperate occasions. Believe me they are not as they used to be. (Can you believe they don't even wrap them up in newspaper anymore. lol) Also with fish stock numbers declining the prices are crazy.
To summarize: Your not missing out.

Hi Donna. Thanks for looking and your kind comments.
I stood for one and a half hours in the cold wind and frequent showers to get this one, convinced that there would be a break in the clouds to illuminate the castle. During that time a couple of occasions the castle all but disappeared within rain/mist.

Hi Tom. Thanks for looking and your comment.
I would like to have seen the place before it's destruction.

Thanks Ted. Your comment reminded me of Wordsworth:

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,

Did my army basic training at Bovington, lo, those many years ago. Travelled through Wool many times in the back of old green 3-ton trucks...

Our son played at the camp with soldier's kids. We could hear and see the flashes from tank practice on Thursday evenings. One of the fun things that happened while we were there is one of the soldiers decided to drive his tank home to show Mum. That wasn't you?
