Really great image Bob. Well controlled light and I love the perspective. Can almost feel us sitn at these two end bar stools.

Frank, thanks for the kind words. At the beginning of Nov. friends and I were sitting at the closest table enjoying lunch.
The comment was that the photograph looked better than the place in person.
Frank, I'd love to be sitting on any of the barstools enjoying a pint with you.

I've no doubt your photo looks better, thanks Bob.

Bob with such a long exposure was it the small aperture that kept form having those lights blown?
what really pulls me into this image is woodgrain of the tables, very nice, Tom
Top notch work Bob. I like it very much.

Unless you have performed some real magic to cover the dynamic range in this pic my guess is that it is a bracket of images that you have merged, though I could be completely wrong. But whatever the case it really is a beautiful piece of work. Powerful leading line drawing your eye in. Lots of lovely detail on the tables and excellent control of the highlights. And the slight touch of green at the exit just adds something special, its like the seasoning on a delicious meal. A couple of nitpicks to an otherwise outstanding pic. Some magenta/green fringing on the picture frame nearest to us, a minor fix. And even though you have rightfully gone for the very dark Rembrandt look which I particularly enjoy, I think that I would have liked just a tad more definition in the shadows of the seats at the bar. Other than that print it, frame it and find a wall, its a beauty.

I like the depth and the feeling of the infinite walkway.
The color depth is good, textures where they should be and I appreciate the lights not overwhelming the image.
- Oddly it feels a bit dark on the right, but I assume that is the way the place is lit.
If it's not too much to ask, would you mind sharing the backstory and your process? Thank you so much! S

Admirable image, Bob!
Dynamic range coverage and tonal spectrum are super!
I'm gonna make two guesses:
First guess: You are going to be asked about your HDR protocol.
Second guess: being as fully familiar with your camera's actual dynamic range as you are you did not practice HDR but captured this image with one exposure.
Lemmeknow which.
Either way, a great image.
Dave
Ill guess its a three bracket shot merged in Photoshop and exported without tone mapping?
Superb piece of work Bob is that needs saying about this.

That could pull me in for a bite.
A fantastic use of light to direct our eye. I don't know how often this is successfully done indoors (other than studios), compared to outdoor shots with sun and shadow, but it seems unique and highly effective here.
My interest is in the appealing details and overall mood (cozy and welcoming - yet without anyone in the frame I feel the place might be a bit exclusive too :) )
But, like the other folks here, I'm also curious about the camera settings or processing used to achieve the totally natural and appealing look.
Spot on exposure, composition, sharpness and carries with it a very "comfortable" feel. Excellent shot.
