This collaboration came about because I was musing in another topic about what kind of bird would look good in black and white. Jerry suggested an egret or any other white bird, and offered to send me an original photo to experiment with. This is the result

Excellent choice. The conversion is very well executed and the circles of ripples add a very nice touch to the shot. Great capture to start with and skilled conversion.

Thank you Carol. The ripples sure added some depth to this photo.

Thanks Bruce. "Action and elegance" ..... I think that describes this one beautifully. This if the first photo I have seen of an egret where the surge from the waves as it strides through the water has been so pronounced.

Thanks willard. I have always liked start contrast between light and dark, but this one faded away very nicely in the grey water.

Thank you Sylvia. I agree, Jerry did a great job of capturing this bird "at just the right moment".

Thanks quixdraw. I truly believe this is an "art" form that has been underutilized for too long.

Thanks Geoff. Coming from one who is a master of light in his own respect, I take this compliment close to heart.
