I,too, shoot a lot of flower pics, and many are dramatic and nice.Trouble.Nobody really wants to look at them.
For my personal taste, most didn't have a blurred enough background, I found some of the backgrounds distracting.
Also, there seemed to be a focus or camera shake issue in many of them. They aren't very sharp.
In #5 your focus was in the flower in back of the front flower...not sure if that was planned.

strong colors need a background/foreground that can hold them - these don't - hence they appear super saturated and a bit gaudy - to me.

O'keefe said something to the effect that nobody pays attention to flowers. They don't or won't take the time. Seeing flowers is like making a friend and one has to spend time to develop a friendship.

:D Series - #1 & #4,No real focal point, eye looks but does not find.
#2 & #5 Great composition, needs extreme sharp focus.
#3 & #6 Focus off.
Tripod and colored poster paper for backgrounds, along with reflectors.
#2 Best
I absolutely appreciate all of the honest feedback. I actually looked at each one and did see where the comments were valid. I am really grateful for your time and your help. I have only had my camera since Christmas - the others were all point and shoot........
Great input .... made me really look hard and long ..... and can see where you are coming from...... thanks
Excellent point ... Never heard it put that way but I will think of that when I see flowers now..... Love it ...... I have always loved flowers.... can't grow them "Brown Thumb" for sure.... Some of my absolute favorites are the so called "weeds" that I find in my back yard. They are amazing ----- guess they could be my best friends because they represent some places I have been in life..... sort of down in the dirt and overlooked .... Makes me realize I am alive and never overlooked.... Sorry for the sappy comment .... not sure it even came out right but.... oh well .....
I see where you are coming from ....... Now I have more to work with....... the input is what makes me learn more..... Such a novice now ...... Thanks
guess .... I still need to learn how to post so the comments go to the intended person..... sorry about that ..... All the help I can get is appreciated.....
besides a little soft these could use a little post processing. They seemed washed out to me. if you have photoshop, go into Image> adjustments> shadow/highlights. Play with that a little and you will find some real nice detail in the petals of the flowers! just did it with these and they look so much better. have fun!!!
