CLLS is Nikon's "Creative Lighting System"
Commander mode for the pop-up flash to control remote speedlights.

Sorry, Patrick
Don't have a Nikon D-750 to check.
I use the SU-800 or Phottix Odin when I go remote.
Group C is available with the SU-800.
Are you sure the on-board choices includes a Group C?

Shocked! Shocked, I tell you!
MENU, CUSTOM, E3, commander Mode for Built-In flash
Group A, B, 4 Channels, Mode, Comp.

Group C is available on all my Nikon flash units and on all previous Nikon DSL's - right down to the D3000. Suddenly, without warning, with no mention in the camera reviews of the big boys - GONE!

You have CLS on your P7800. But only on channel A3.
It allows the camera to control your Nikon CLS compatible flash units off camera. Both to trigger firing them and to change their settigs from the camera with the flash at a distance.

Search YouTube for "Nikon CLS". They're better explanations than the manual.
I like Gary Fong's clips. (Im 87 and hard of hearing. The last couple of generations never heard of articulation or ennunciatiion. Damn Marlon Brando mumblers!)

I have to look up videos Arte Johnson...he was fuuunnnny!

My Nikon D800, D300s and D7000 have only 2 groups, but it does have 4 channels.

The flashes that are capable of being commanders that I have, the SB 910, SB 900, SB 800, have 3 groups.

Well, if that shocks you... please don't buy a SB700 and place it in Commander mode looking for a group C there either ... :)

You can't get it back, it was never there.

Just Nikons way of saying "You want three groups, buy an SU800 "

Not my favorite Nikon restriction. My Olympus and Panasonic cameras allow access to all groups from the camera.

And a heck of a lot easier to access.

If the price of the Nikon SU-800 is offensive, you might check out the Debao SU-800 for $80.
(This is NOT an endorsement!)

The Phottix Odin works great for radio connection.
(This IS an endorsement.)

I called NikonUSA Tech Supprt.
We reset the D750 (Cuostom Settings Menu>Reset custom settings).
Still no Group C listed in Menu E3,only Group A and Group B!

The tech agent had been unaware of this degrade. No help, no encouragement. I asked her to pursue it within the company resources. She will call me back.

Group A, B, C have all been available in CLS in every Nikon DLS since the D3000. I'll comment here when she calls back.

The D3000 never had a commander mode.
"Like the D40 and D5000, flash capability is an area where the Nikon D3000 lacks some substantial capability relative to the company's higher models, though, in that its built-in flash can't serve as a Commander in Nikon's Wireless Lighting System. You can still use the Nikon D3000 to control multiple remote flash units via either an SB-800 or SB-900 flash strobe or Nikon's SU-800 remote commander, but the built-in flash doesn't have that ability on its own."

The least expensive current model that can act as the commander for CLS remote control is the D-7200 camera line.

I stand corrected. I do note that my D3300 has it, however and that's still offered as an entry level DSL.

Point is, all the FX DLS Nikons that I've had have included CLS with three Groups, A, B, C. The D750 has apparently dropped the C Group. I find it alarming that it has been dropped in this near-top-of-the-line camera which was introduced, to my recollection, at somethiing like $2,400.00.

I want and use three groups in my studio work. I now have a rack of SB flashes that are suddenly degraded along with the best camera I can afford.

I just got my call back from the Tech Support supervisor. "No, it was a decision by the Production department and was unknown to us. I'll forward your suggestion for a firmware request. You're the first peerson to mention it."

Hmmmm, everything I have read says it doesn't.
Of course, I reading from the internet sooo...

This from Nikon's website about the D3300:
"Advanced Wireless Lighting supported with SB-910, SB-900, SB-800 or SB-700 as a master flash or SU-800 as commander"
(Means you have to have one of those flashes or the SU-800 attached for commander.)

For the D7200, this is what Nikon says:
"Nikon CLS supported; commander mode option available"
(Referring to the pop-up flash)

Can you take a screen shot of that menu option on your D3300?
Another member claims his D5XXX does it as well.

Not doubting you, just want to confirm.
May be an unexpected bargain.
